THE NFT COLLECTION

In collaboration with Nifty Gateway, The NFT Collection by Ken Nwadiogbu marks a bold expansion of Journey Mercies into the digital realm. Titled The Migrant, this collection of NFTs offers a new dimension to Nwadiogbu’s ongoing exploration of migration.

Made in November 2021, The Migrant NFT series presents the painted faces from Journey Mercies in a transformed state. Their eyes are no longer static. They are replaced with subtle, looping video footage of real people: friends and fellow travelers. This tension between seen and unseen, digital and physical, self and other, animates the collection, creating a space of reflection that lives on screens yet lingers in the mind.

Presented on Nifty Gateway and supported by Retro Africa, the project has already been featured in exhibitions in France, US, and Nigeria. The Migrant NFT collection continues Nwadiogbu’s mission to collapse boundaries between media, between histories and between people.
